Liz Smith

Liz Smith

Liz has over 30 years’ experience and has held a number of senior roles in HR, management and organisational development. As a consultant, she now focuses on helping organisations build learning and development into their ways of working, as well as providing bespoke programmes to enhance personal, leadership and team effectiveness. Key themes that run through Liz’s work are:

  • Authentic personal leadership and using strengths-based approaches to enhance confidence.

  • Resilience and effectiveness.

  • Helping management teams to learn and work together more effectively.

  • Teaching and facilitating peer coaching, action learning and collaborative problem-solving methodologies.

Liz’s first degree is in Natural Sciences from Cambridge, and she holds a Masters in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the London School of Economics. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a qualified mediator, an MBTI® practitioner and a Strengthscope® practitioner and has been a Visiting Tutor in Leadership Development at Henley Business School.

Liz mostly works with scientific, technical and professional organisations, with previous clients and employers, including GlaxoSmithKline, Napp, Eisai, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, Aixtron, ARM, Cambridge Silicon Radio, Domino, Nujira, Xaar, Jersey Telecom and the Royal Society of Chemistry. She is a strong believer in the importance of effective people management and has extensive experience in designing and delivering bespoke management development programmes.

Liz has worked in the US, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France.
